In March this year I completed my last MRI and CT scans. Both scans were clear and I was told that, in the ten years since my enucleation, my cancer has not metastasized to anywhere else in my body.
It’s a certain relief that the end of this 18 year journey is at its end.
However, I still had melanoma, even if the “ocular” part of the diagnosis is no longer a concern.
The next step of my journey now include an annual visit to a dermatologist to look for skin melanomas. As I write this I am waiting in the biopsy results of two moles that were removed.
Even at the end of my cancer, it’s really not gone away.
